Chinon 674 Macro
 1974 - Super 8 Camera |
Won this gorgeous piece of filming equipment off eBay just last weekend for a cool $26 (plus $18 in shipping), and it's in near-perfect shape - No corrosion, buttons and lens work. I've still yet to acquire film for this (Super 8 film still exists!), and I'll be tracking down a weird-but-not-uncommon battery, aaaand an instruction manual which will be somewhat harder to locate. For now though, ( photos! (+15) )AND THAT'S ALL HE WROTE about the Super 8, got another thing here too. More of a PICKLE of an issue. HELP ):I have ANOTHER TWO cameras here that I picked up from my dad, who got them from a charity store for a total of $15. They run on VHS-C cassettes - Or they're supposed to, but one doesn't load the tape properly, and the other (whilst having perfect tape control) has a busted record button. Regardless, this hasn't deterred me from wanting to use them, and I know what I need. An analog video capture card. Here's where it gets tricky. What I need is something in USB, Expresscard (54mm), or Firewire (4-pin) form, to use on my laptop. I've tried looking around, but everything I see either doesn't work at a satisfactory level (based on reviews and specs), or is entirely built for television and won't accept anything that isn't a television channel. I'm also totally without knowledge about analog video capture in general, so I don't know what's good or what works. I've gotten a few suggestions, but I'm still looking around, so HELP? ): Tags: photo
